When I started this blog nearly two years ago, I was still a medical fellow training to be an allergist. At that time, I was living in Vancouver with my two children and wonderful wife, blogging mainly about life as a parent. Fast forward two years later and I am a practicing allergist living in Calgary with my three children and still wonderful wife. Having studied countless hours for my pediatric allergy board exam, I feel more confident to blog about allergy related issues, and I plan to use this forum to discuss allergies and the many myths and misunderstandings that surround them.

For example, strawberries are not a common food allergen.

Hypoallergenic dogs are not truly hypoallergenic.

Benadryl does not stop life-threatening food allergic reactions (ie. anaphylaxis).

And acting like a dinosaur does not give you the right to bite people.

No wait… sorry… that’s my 2-year-old’s misconception…
